In 2015, the hillsides, houses and cellars of Champagne were listed as World Heritage by UNESCO.
This inscription covers both the historic hillsides (Hauvillers, Ay, Mareuil sur Ay), the cellars (Hautvillers wine cellars, cellars of Ay and Mareuil sur Ay, cellars of Pommery, Ruinart, Veuve-Cliquot, Charles Heidsieck, Taittinger, Martel), and the sales and distribution centers (the Champagne houses of the Avenue de Champagne) to reflect the entire production process.
